CampaignCreator wins again
It seems that CampaignCreator has won the EuroCities Participation award for Bristol City Council.
It seems that CampaignCreator has won the EuroCities Participation award for Bristol City Council.
Stephen Hilton writes that Campaign Creator will be given some recognition but an international organisation.
Campaign Creator has been selected as one of six International "Good Practice in Citizen Participation" projects by the International Observatory of Participative Democracy (OIDP). The project was chosen from 40 International Case Studies.
And the the magnimous Mr Hilton in true BAFTA style also gives thanks. But doesn't link. Tut tut.
Congratulations to Stephen Hilton from Bristol City Council consultation team who won BT Innovator of the Year in the Government Computing Awards.
A Gallomanor project, CampaignCreator, seemed to feature as part of the reason for winning, but overall I imagine it's Stephen's attitude of "Do it until someone tells you not to" rather than seeking permission for everything, that really got him the award.
It's also rather touching that the success that Bristol have had hasn't turned into arrogance. I spoke to Carol Hayward, one of Stephen's team, just as she was leaving for the awards ceremony. "I think we're just making up the numbers. I don't think he's won anything.", she said as she contemplated the first round of drinks in her mind.
